Jodi West
Jodi West, from performer to studio president
A late debut, a company built with her husband, a taboo franchise and a comeback at sixty-one: the unusual arc of a performer who became an owner.
The Lethal Hardcore debut
West's first credited scene was for Lethal Hardcore in 2010, at an age when most performers are already thinking about retirement. The company's cougar line was a natural fit, and she quickly became a regular in its MILF and mature-woman releases.
She has said that the decision was her own, made with her husband's support rather than in spite of it. That partnership became the foundation of everything that followed: Jay West handled distribution and business affairs while Jodi learned the creative side.
The company
Forbidden Fruits Films was founded in the early 2010s and grew into one of the better-known boutique labels in the taboo market. Its output was distributed on DVD by Exile and streamed through HotMovies and AEBN, giving the Wests control over everything from casting to box art.
West served as president and co-owner, and she was comfortable talking about the business in trade interviews. She described the company as a family operation, with she and Jay dividing the work according to their strengths.
The taboo years
The bad-mommy films made West a recognizable name in a crowded niche. Memoirs of Bad Mommies, Mother-Son Secrets and their many sequels were built around a simple premise and a consistent performance style: the older woman as confident seducer, never a victim and never a fool.
The AVN nominations followed, including four consecutive MILF Performer of the Year nods and a Best Actress nomination for Call Me Mother. Whatever critics thought of the subject matter, the industry recognized the craft involved in carrying a series that depended on the same performer again and again.
The late reinvention
West stepped back from production after 2020, and for a while it looked as though her career had ended quietly. The 2025 return changed that. A new Bad Mommies volume, an Elegant Angel showcase and a pair of much-publicized firsts put her back on the release calendar.
The comeback is unusual not because performers return, but because West returned as both a veteran and a beginner. She was relearning a market that had moved from DVD to streaming and creator platforms, while still running the company that had made her name.
